Open Mic Night
Friday night, local musicians, a stage and a pub full of people who came for a good evening out. Open Mic Night is back at The Crown on Friday 30th October, from 8pm.
Each act plays a song or two, so the night keeps moving, and you never wait long for the next one. It might be a singer-songwriter with something new, a favourite cover, or someone who has been practising in the kitchen for weeks. That mix is what makes it worth turning up for.
Want to play?
Just turn up and ask. There’s no sign-up, no audition, and you don’t need to be a regular. Joe and Sarah host the night and play backing, so you won’t be up there on your own. It’s a friendly crowd, and a nervous first go gets just as warm a reception as a seasoned performer.

Come along, get a drink in and pick a good seat. Bring a few friends and make an evening of it.

Kids Halloween Party
Calling all little ghouls, witches and pumpkins. The Crown is hosting a Halloween party for children on Saturday 31st October, from 3pm to 5pm.
It’s free to come along, and there are complimentary spooky snacks for everyone. It’s a friendly, easy afternoon, with plenty of time for pictures before the evening begins.
Come in costume if you like. Parents and grown-ups are very welcome to stay, and the bar will be open if you fancy a drink while they’re busy.

Adults Halloween Party
The little ones go home, and the night gets a bit scarier. The Crown’s Halloween party for adults starts at 6pm on Saturday 31st October, with live music from 9pm.
Dress up, and you get a free shot, so it’s worth the effort. There are prizes for best dressed too, so go all out.
Come at 6pm for a drink, look at the costumes, and stay for the music.

The Slips Duo LIVE
Halloween night, and we’ve got live music. The Slips Duo are playing at The Crown on Saturday 31st October, from 9pm.
She sings, he strings. It’s an acoustic covers duo from Devizes, with a sound that works just as well when you’re singing along as when you just want to sit back and listen. They play weddings and events across Wiltshire and the South West, so this is a rare chance to catch them in the pub.
It’s a good night to get a few friends together, find a table and settle in for the evening. Expect songs you know, played by two people who clearly enjoy it.
